I feel very lucky to have grown up in a household full of life and laughter. We had a garden, played outside and were always doing sports and activities as kids. This instilled a love for sports and movement from a young age and has been my key to a conscious path ever since.
I was trained in classical ballet from the age of 2 right through to my late 20’s, I also played tennis from a very young age and became a junior coach at then went on to teach for the best part of 10 years to children and adults. This time, my mentors and coaches had a lasting effect inspiring me with the importance of form, stamina, discipline and self motivation.
I began personal training because I noticed that so many of us lacked confidence in ourselves and our bodies. Women more obviously but also men in a quieter manner have so many hang ups about their flaws and less realisation of their attributes. I initially wanted to help people to address the things that they felt unhappy about and to see their real capabilities. I quickly found that training goals were just the surface of something deeper rooted in the psyche and that our sessions enhanced their state of mind, body awareness and self care. This led me into a world of energy healing which I continue to study today.
Personal training I see as an energy exchange, myself and the client both invest the time and whilst I motivate and teach, I gain inspiration and great reward for embarking on such wonderful journeys. I thrive on seeing someone discover their unique power and seeing them shine brighter.
Training has helped me through the toughest times in my life and opened the doors to Yoga and kick boxing. These disciplines have showed me the wonder of mindfulness, endurance and respect for self and others. My self practice to this day still gives me the necessity of grounding and the essential lesson of patience. I strongly believe that through training and movement you can heal the mind, body and soul as well as enhancing performance and aesthetics.
